The head of the Strong Mothers public foundation, Raigul Serikbayeva, shared her expert opinion on the reform of Kazakhstan's electoral system, as reported by Elorda.info.
In the course of public discussion Raigul Serikbayeva called on citizens not to stay aside and actively participate in elections, giving votes for worthy candidates for deputies of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and maslikhats of all levels. The Speaker noted that the course to build the New Kazakhstan is taken with the beginning of the social transformation.
"In his speeches, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev often says about building a New Kazakhstan on the principles of social justice, in which the Government will listen to and take into account the demands of different categories of citizens. I think that all segments of the population deserve to live in a country where their basic needs are taken into account. The combination of elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament and to the maslikhats of all regions will give additional impetus to an important political event. We are especially glad of the fact that this year self-nominated candidates can take part in the election race. People who come from the nation and intend to run as independent candidates have an opportunity to use their potential to develop small towns and cities. Political parties are also forced to divide their forces. Innovations in the electoral system provide for serious positive changes in society concerning effective work of the state apparatus," she concluded.
