The Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in voting at the elections to Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and local Maslikhats at the polling station located at the Al-Farabi Palace of Schoolchildren.
Meanwhile, as of 8.15 am of the capital's time, according to the updated information provided by the oblast, Almaty, Shymkent, and Astana commissions, all 1,016 polling stations around the country and 18 stations at Kazakhstan's missions in foreign countries were opened for voting.
59 polling stations abroad would start voting taking into account the difference of time zones.
There are 10,223 polling stations for voting in the republic. 62 polling stations in 77 countries including at the representative offices of the Republic of Kazakhstan in foreign states.
Voting started at 6.00 a.m at 92 polling stations, according to the decisions of territorial commissions.
In accordance with the boundaries of time zones on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, polling stations in five regions: Aktobe, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, and Mangistau regions, will begin voting at 08:00 on the capital time.
The lists include 12,032,550 citizens.
All in all, precinct commissions, upon written applications of citizens, have issued 12,765 absentee certificates for the right to vote at the elections of deputies to Mazhilis of Parliament to be elected by party lists.
