Nurlan Abdirov met with members of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation
On March 18, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov and members of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan met with Nikolay Bulayev, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation and Lyudmila Markina, member of the CEC.
Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan briefed his colleague on the election campaign for the elections to Mazhilis of the Parliament and Maslikhats of all levels of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and talked about the work of the CEC in the election period and readiness of electoral bodies for the voting day.
The participants of the meeting discussed the peculiarities of current election period and reviewed the main trends of development of international election observation institute.
Nikolay Bulayev expressed his confidence that the elections in Kazakhstan will be successful and democratic.
In his turn, Nurlan Abdirov thanked his colleagues for the visit and wished success to the Russian delegation in monitoring of the elections.
In conclusion the parties agreed to continue the existing mutual cooperation and constant exchange of experience.
Also a meeting was held between Nurlan Abdirov and the delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
On March 18, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nurlan Abdirov met with a delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, headed by the Ambassador of the Political Department of the OIC General Secretariat Saeed Sheikh Hassan Sharif.
During the meeting the Head of the Central Election Commission informed about the preparation and conduct of early elections of deputies to Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, briefly summarized the results of registration of candidates, and stressed that all procedures for candidate registration were held on the principles of transparency and openness in accordance with constitutional norms. Necessary measures were taken by election commissions for realization of constitutional rights of citizens.
Nurlan Abdirov emphasized that this is not the first time the delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation takes part in monitoring of the electoral processes in our country. He also expressed gratitude to the international observers for accepting the invitation and coming to Kazakhstan to monitor the electoral process.
The Chairman of the CEC stressed that the election commissions take all measures to ensure that the elections are held in accordance with national legislation and international standards.
In turn, the Secretary of the CEC met with representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.
On March 18 Secretary of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Erman met with the delegation of the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly consisting of a member of the Republican Assembly of Portugal, Vice-President of the PA Mediterranean Antonio Pedro Roque Oliveira and Ambassador-at-Large for the PA Mediterranean Ionaş Florin Urcan.
Secretary of the Central Election Commission presented to the members of the delegation the results of the main stages of the election campaign, information on the registered candidates for deputies, informed the representatives of the Union of the Mediterranean about the number of citizens of Kazakhstan included to the electoral rolls, number of polling stations in the country, results of the international observers accreditation for the election.
In his turn, Antonio Pedro Roque Oliveira thanked for the information provided and stressed the high level of organisation of the electoral process.

On March 18, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nurlan Abdirov held six meetings with international observers during the day.
In the first half of the day Nurlan Abdirov met with representatives of delegation of Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the Central Commission on Elections and Referenda of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Khudoyerzoda met with a group of international observers from the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly.
He briefly informed the guests about the preparation and conduct of the upcoming elections of deputies of Mazhilis of the Parliament as well as the readiness of polling stations for the voting day, answered the questions of participants of the meetings related to the organization and conduct of elections, timing and order of summarizing the results.
During the meetings the Chairman of CEC also marked the importance of participation of international observers in the coming elections as the sign of support of democratic development of Kazakhstan.
The heads of delegations noted the calm and benevolent situation in the country on the eve of elections, the high professional level of training of election campaign organizers, and expressed their willingness to observe the voting day objectively and impartially.

Representatives from 16 central election bodies of foreign countries came to observe the regular elections of deputies to Mazhilis of the Parliament and Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Armenia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Turkey, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Hungary, Georgia, India, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, and the Philippines.
In his welcoming speech, Nurlan Abdirov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, expressed his gratitude to the participants in the meeting for their participation in the observation of the current election campaign of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He also emphasized that the meeting is a kind of meeting of experts in the area of preparation and holding of elections, since each of the participants of today's meeting was or was taking part in this important political event for his country.
Konstantin Petrov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made a report on the preparation of the pre-election campaign. He told about peculiarities of the current election campaign, its stages and preparation for the voting day. Also, Sabila Mustafina, a member of the CEC, spoke about the results of election training.
The meeting was followed by a briefing with representatives of mass media.

On March 17 the Chairman of Central Election Commission Nurlan Abdirov held eight meetings with international observers during the day.
On that day he met with the Chairmen of the CECs of Azerbaijan, Moldova, Mongolia, members of the CEC of the Republic of Turkey, as well as with the delegations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO, the Organization of Turkic States and the Turkic Parliamentary Assembly.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission presented the Calendar Plan of Actions for Preparing and Holding the Early Elections to Mazhilis of the Parliament and Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the delegation members, introduced the participants of the meetings with the progress in implementing reforms to the election legislation, and also informed them about the results of registering candidates and party lists of political parties.
During the meetings Nurlan Abdirov also informed about the number of citizens of Kazakhstan included in the voter lists, the number of polling stations in the country, and the results of accreditation of international observers for the upcoming elections.
The CEC Chairman thanked the international observers for accepting his invitation and coming to Kazakhstan to monitor the electoral process. Nurlan Abdirov emphasized that our country takes all measures to ensure that the elections will be held in accordance with the national legislation and international standards.
He also noted that the Central Election Commission is taking all necessary measures to hold free and fair elections in line with the national legislation and high democratic standards, stressing that the observation of the upcoming elections will be done by 793 observers from 12 international organizations and 41 countries.
In turn, the delegations asked questions about the stages of nomination and registration of candidates and noted the high level of organisation of the electoral process.
